Former UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno has his next assignment.
He is expected to face Tatsuro Heira on the final pay-per-view broadcast of 2025 in an intriguing matchup added to the lineup for UFC 323 on Dec. 6 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Multiple sources with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed the news after it was first reported by MMA Fighting. good junkie.
After consecutive losses, Moreno regained his form with back-to-back wins over Steve Erceg and Amir Albaji and began his climb towards title contention once again. Moreno, known as one of the top 125-pound fighters in the world, may have some work to do if he wants another shot at the title, having lost to current champion Alexandre Pantoja three times (including an exhibition match on The Ultimate Fighter), but a win in December would definitely help the cause.
As for Taira, he will be looking for the biggest win of his career as the 25-year-old flyweight looks to establish himself as a future title contender. After falling short in a back-and-forth battle with Brandon Roybal, Taira defeated Park Hyun-sung in August, bringing his total record to 17 wins and 1 loss.
This time, Taira will clash with Moreno on the same card as the flyweight title fight between Pantoja and Joshua Bunn.
UFC 323 will feature a bantamweight title fight, with reigning champion Merab Dvalishvili rematching Petr Yan.
