The Los Angeles defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 3-1, taking a 3-0 lead in the National League Championship Series and one win away from the World Series.

There was some fireworks in the first inning, as the Brewers hit starter Tyler Glasnow in two (but didn’t score), with two batters scoring.

Shohei Ohtani led off with a triple, and Mookie Betts brought it home with an RBI double. After giving up a walk to Freddie Freeman two batters later, Brewers opening pitcher Aaron Ashby was replaced by right-handed pitcher Jacob Misiorowski. He got out of a first inning jam and shut out the in the next few innings.
The Brewers quickly got one back in the second inning with a one-out triple by left fielder Quique Hernandez on a diving attempt (but he should have stopped it earlier).
A forced infield hit brought the game to one point, and after a stolen base and an error, Max Muncy saved the point with great defense at third base.
Andy Pages hit a single in the bottom of the second inning. Glasnow and Misiorowski exchanged zero blows, and this was the last hit of the game until the bottom of the sixth inning.
The finally broke the seal in the bottom of the sixth inning when Will Smith hit a one-out single and Freeman walked. Then Tommy Edman hit an RBI homer, giving the a 2-1 lead.
Right-hander Abner Uribe relieved Misiorowski, but accidentally tried to stab Edman at first base. The throw failed and Freeman scored, giving LA a 3-1 lead.
Glasnow, who pitched 5.2 innings, allowing one run on three hits and eight strikeouts, was relieved by Alex Beshear starting in the sixth inning, with Beshear remaining until the seventh inning. He allowed a leadoff double to record an out and was then replaced by Blake Treinen. Brewers superstar outfielder Jackson Cholio was forced to leave the game with an apparent leg injury, but the right-hander was able to finish the inning unharmed.

Left-hander Anthony Banda then pitched the eighth, earning a 1-2-3 inning. Rookie right-hander Roki Sasaki then pitched a nine-inning shutout victory, bringing Los Angeles one win away from qualifying for the World Series. He was aided by the incredible defense of shortstop Betts, a Gold Glove finalist.
