Nottingham Forest are currently in talks to appoint a “sensational” new manager following the sacking of Ange Postecoglou on Saturday.

Nuno Espirito Santo left Forest with a big job to do after leading them to Europe last season, but Ange’s reign as Forest manager has been a disaster, with the Australian becoming the second-shortest tenured manager in Premier League history.
The 60-year-old was in charge of Tricky Trees for just 39 days, picking up just one point from five Premier League games, while also struggling in the Europa League, with the team losing 3-2 at home to FC Midjylland earlier this month.
Their last game was a 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea on Saturday, but the scoreline probably did not reflect their performance, with Morgan Gibbs-White, Igor Jesus, Neco Williams and Nikola Milenkovic all missing big chances throughout the 90 minutes.
Evangelos Marinakis isn’t just waiting around, sacking the former Tottenham Hotspur manager before giving a post-match interview, with the owners now setting their sights on a replacement.
Sean Dyche is currently in talks to become Nottingham Forest’s new manager, and the move could happen quickly if Marinakis deems the 54-year-old to be the right man for the job, according to an update provided to X by Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett.
It is believed that Dyche will provide stability and motivational skills that could end Tricky Trees’ slump. They have had a very poor start to the season and are currently in the relegation zone in the Europa League.
However, the former Everton manager is not the only manager on the shortlist, as Dorsett has revealed that Roberto Mancini, who retired as Saudi Arabia manager last year, has not been ruled out as a candidate.

The Englishman built a reputation for being able to steady the ship at a club staring at relegation after replacing Frank Lampard in January, guiding Everton to safety on the final day of the 2022-23 season.
Forest have been underperforming significantly with just five points from their opening eight games and will likely be in a relegation battle this season, so it would make sense to appoint the former Burnley manager, who is highly rated by journalist Mark Douglas.
There were question marks over appointing Dyche on a long-term deal, as he failed to get a start at Everton after avoiding relegation and was sacked after less than two years in charge, but giving him a contract until the end of the season may be a wise move.
