Liverpool manager Arne Slott has slammed Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United’s tactics in the run-up to Sunday’s Premier League win at Anfield.

The Dutch tactician spoke after the 2-1 defeat, which left the Reds with a four-point lead, about how unlucky his side were despite creating many chances.

Liverpool did come close on several occasions, with Alexander Isak missing a golden opportunity in the first half, while Kodi Gakpo hit the post three times in total.

Watch the video clip below where Slott harshly criticized Man Utd’s tactics in the post-match press conference, explaining that Man Utd were playing in a “low block” and playing a lot of “long balls” against teams…

Arne Slott talks about Manchester United’s tactics

“If you play United, who have a lot of quality players, if they come at us with a low block and give us a lot of long balls, you definitely don’t want to lose 1-0,” Slott said.

“If you told me that we were 1-0 down against a United team that played in their style, and that we created eight, nine, 10 open chances, I would tell you that I don’t think that’s possible.”

He added: “Out of all the chances we had, we only managed to score one goal.”

The former Feyenoord manager also lamented the fact that his team conceded a goal again from a set piece.

Overall, this was a bad day in the office for LFC and it will be interesting to see if they can turn things around after four straight losses.

Many of the new players don’t seem to be hitting the mark, and last season’s stars like Mohamed Salah have also regressed.
