Autumn internationals: England call up 19-year-old Noah Caruori to training squad

England have welcomed Saracens teenager Noah Kaluori into the squad’s training ahead of the autumn international tournament.

Kaluori, 19, scored five tries in his first start for Gallagher PREM as Saracens defeated Sale Sharks on Saturday.

His impressive form quickly earned him a place in the England squad and he was named as an additional player in the latest 36-player training squad.

It remains to be seen whether he will be shortlisted when Steve Borthwick confirms his full squad for the four-Test program next Sunday, but it is still an incredible trajectory for the rising star.

There is also no place for Saracens No.8 Tom Willis, who has agreed to join Bordeaux Begles for next season. The switch will see him removed from duty against England’s opponents.

There is also no place for Owen Farrell, who has returned to Saracens after a tough season with Racing 92. He will step away from the England squad after the 2023 Rugby World Cup and is focused on rediscovering his best form with Saracens.

However, Borthwick was rewarded with call-ups for Leicester’s Adam Radwan and Bath’s Henry Arundel. Both wingers boast blistering speed and will hope to be given the chance to impress when England face Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Argentina this autumn.

Leicester’s No. 8 Emeka Ilione will also be called up, as injuries to Ben Curry and Tom Curry and the absence of Willis have created an opening in the back row. With Gloucester’s Seb Atkinson injured, Bath’s Max Ojomo is also a candidate.
