Ivan Toni is doing well in Saudi ArabiaAl Ahly have no intention of letting Tony leave the club

Despite the English striker’s continued success in Saudi Arabia with Al Ahly, Ivan Toney’s name has re-emerged in Premier League rumors as the January transfer window approaches, sources close to the agent industry have said. catch off side.

Since moving to the Middle East, the 29-year-old has maintained an impressive scoring record and quickly became one of the best forwards in the Saudi Professional League.

Toney has played in 12 games this season, scoring nine goals and providing two assists.

His form, coupled with injury concerns in attack at both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, has sparked fresh speculation about a possible return to England. However, despite the growing interest, the reality of the move appears to be far more complicated than expected.

The former Brentford star adapted quickly to life in Saudi Arabia, bringing goals and leadership to his new club. But that same form has reignited interest in the Premier League, with both Tottenham and Chelsea in the market for a forward.

Both clubs are dealing with injury issues among their attacking options, and Toney’s proven track record in the Premier League makes him an attractive solution.

Despite the speculation, sources close to the player insist he is happy with his current situation and is not seeking a return.

Tony’s contract with Al Ahly runs until June 2028. Sources also say that Tottenham manager Thomas Frank, who coached Toney during his time at Brentford, remains a huge fan of Toney, but that Toney is not the club’s top transfer priority at this stage.

Chelsea are also exploring short-term options, but are wary of entering into complex negotiations for a player who has settled in Saudi Arabia.

A loan move has been floated as a potential solution, but it remains unlikely that Al Ahly would agree to such a deal midway through the season.

For Toney, the prospect of returning to European football is also linked with England ambitions. With the 2026 World Cup just around the corner, a return to the Premier League could increase his chances of being called up to Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

However, his current circumstances, including a lucrative contract and a comfortable life in the Middle East, pose a major obstacle to leaving in January.
