Manchester United currently have Marcus Rashford on loan at Barcelona, but it looks like he is really starting to return to his best form.
The England international struggled to form in the final stages of his time at Manchester United, and even failed to impress during his loan spell at Aston Villa in the second half of last season.
But this season at Barça, especially in the Champions League, Rashford finally seems to be at his best again.
Rashford scored twice as Hansi Flick’s side defeated Olympiakos 6-1 last night, earning him a rating of 8.5/10 from Football España.
The Spanish football publication also praised Rashford’s classy moment when he conceded a shot to Fermin Lopez to complete his hat-trick, despite the Man United loanee being in a good position to score himself.
What’s next for Manchester United misfit Marcus Rashford?
Rashford probably has no way back into the United team, but performances like this for Barcelona may have some fans wondering if he’s worth a second chance.
The 27-year-old has long been one of United’s best players, but this change of scene could be helping him rediscover his best form.
That could mean Rashford can return to MUFC and perform again, but it could also be a sign that he just needs to get out of Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford isn’t the only former United player improving
Rashford is one of several former United players who have gone on to do well after leaving the club, with Anthony shining at Real Betis, while Rasmus Hjølund and Scott McTominay have been big players at Napoli.
Perhaps this just shows that the players need to continue escaping the toxic atmosphere at United and enjoy playing football again somewhere else.
If Rashford continues to play like this, he will surely earn a permanent move to Camp Nou.
