Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has made the interesting choice to remove references to the club from his X (formerly Twitter) account.

The Egyptian international was left on the bench by Liverpool manager Arne Slott last night as the Reds finally got back to winning ways with a 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.

Salah is usually Liverpool’s undisputed starter, but his form has not improved so far this season and Slott appears ready to leave him out of important games.

This probably didn’t sit well with Salah himself, who removed references to Liverpool from his X-page and replaced it with a photo of himself with his family.

Is this the beginning of the end for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah?

Salah was incredible for Liverpool last season, producing one of their best seasons as the Reds won the Premier League title.

However, at 33 years old, Salah may be reaching his peak, as he is no longer able to influence matches as much as he used to.

Salah has only scored three goals and provided three assists so far this season, not terrible numbers by any means, but still low by his standards.

Just last season, the former Roma man racked up an impressive 34 goals and 23 assists in all competitions, and shows no signs of slowing down much.

Perhaps Salah can still turn things around, but even the best players start to decline with age and if he is not happy with leaving the team, his time at Anfield could come to an end surprisingly quickly.

Salah just signed a new two-year contract in April, but it will be interesting to see what happens in January if he continues to sit on the bench.
