KTM’s Pedro Acosta took the lead in practice for the 2025 MotoGP Malaysian Grand Prix, securing a direct place in Q2 in qualifying on Saturday.
Despite suffering two crashes on Friday, the 21-year-old was still able to lead the day with a time of 1:57.599 on his factory KTM in the afternoon session.
He is one of two KTM riders who secured direct entry into Saturday morning’s Q2 qualifying session.
He will be joined by three other Ducati riders, but Pecco Bagnaia is currently not one of them. Two Hondas and three Yamahas also secured direct entry into Q2.
At Friday’s MotoGP round, the top 10 at the end of practice will secure direct advancement to Q2. Two further spots will be available for Saturday’s Q1 qualifying session.
