Turning attention back to this weekend’s Premier League fixtures, Newcastle welcome Fulham to St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.

After another dominant performance in Europe earlier in the week, the Magpies will be looking for immediate action domestically as Eddie Howe’s side look for a way into the top half of the Premier League table.

Fulham may have started the new campaign with their sights set on mounting yet another serious European attack, but the Cottage remain in a worrying rut on either side of the October international break.

With the two camps seated next to each other at the table to open this weekend’s match, we took a look at some of the most appealing Newcastle vs Fulham bet builder tips.

Newcastle aim for repeat appearance

Newcastle may have suffered a late heartbreak at Brighton last weekend with an eventual 2-1 defeat at the Amex, but Howe’s side came roaring back in sensational fashion at the start of the week.

The former Bournemouth manager will be desperate for another performance on Saturday afternoon, with his side on track for a big 3-0 win at home to Jose Mourinho’s Benfica.

Newcastle, who opened with a 4-0 win away to Royal Union in October and claimed their first Champions League win earlier this month, have won three of their last four appearances in all competitions.

Following a 2-0 home win against Nottingham Forest, the Magpies now have their sights firmly set on finding their way into the top half of the Premier League table heading into the October two-week interval.

In addition to winning the previous two meetings at St James’ Park by a score of 5-0 on aggregate, Howe’s side also recorded back-to-back clean sheets in front of their own supporters for the first time this season.

Look out for Gordon

Nick Waltemade may have only completed his big-money £69m move from Stuttgart a few months ago, but the Germany international has certainly made an immediate impact at St James’ Park.

But while the 23-year-old may have already scored four goals in his first five Premier League games, it’s worth keeping an eye on Anthony Gordon here.

The former Everton star may have had a nightmare start to the new season, receiving a reckless red card against Liverpool on August 25, but Gordon is returning to his empathic best.

Having added to his European goal against Benfica earlier in the week, the England international has now scored an astonishing four goals in his first three Champions League games.

Similarly, scoring just his second goal as a senior Three Lions player in England’s 5-0 win over Latvia on October 14 took Gordon directly to five goals in his last six games for club and country.

Frustration with Silva grows

While some in Fulham’s camp may have entered the 2025/26 season with the aim of making a serious European charge, the Cottagers have found themselves in the midst of a real struggle.

Saturday’s guests have lost each of their last three consecutive Premier League appearances, although they were last seen returning from the October international break in a 1-0 defeat at home to title contenders Arsenal.

Fulham head into the October two-week interval having suffered back-to-back 3-1 defeats to Aston Villa and Bournemouth, and there is a sense that the team are desperately looking for vital reinforcements.

Saturday’s opening game at St James’ Park saw them languish in 14th place, but there were once again hints that the former Everton manager is growing dissatisfied in west London.

They will no doubt face intense scrutiny again this weekend, but it should also be highlighted that Fulham have lost their last three Premier League games against Craven Cottage by an aggregate score of 8-2.
