The Miami Heat earned their first win of the season against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Miami Heat dominated the Memphis Grizzlies from the start and never looked back, winning 146-114.

Bam Adebayo led all Heat scorers with 24 points, and Nikola Jovic had 20 points off the bench.

It was a balanced attack for the Heat, with eight players scoring in double figures.

The Heat broke a franchise record by scoring 86 points in the first half against the Grizzlies.

Miami shot 57.7 percent from the field and 10 of 16 from 3-point range.

Adebayo scored 18 points in the first quarter and led the way with 20 points. Simone Fontecchio had 14 points on four threes, Norman Powell had 12 points and Andrew Wiggins and Kael Ware each had 10 points.

The Heat have scored 80 or more points in the first half four times since the start of the 2018-19 season.

Tyler Herro underwent surgery on his left foot in September. The city of Miami expects Herro’s recovery to take approximately eight to 12 weeks.

The Heat have historically struggled offensively, so opening the season with two consecutive games of solid offense is a great sign.

The Heat are playing with confidence and the ball is moving freely. If the Heat’s offense is as good as it is without All-Star guard Tyler Herro, it could open up new depth for the team.

Miami’s overpowering of a resilient Grizzlies defense proves it can be dangerous when the offense gets it right.
