The spotlight is on the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have reached the Western Conference Finals in two seasons. Anthony Edwards is the team’s star player and is putting pressure on the organization.

The Minnesota Timberwolves started the season with a 1-1 record in their first two games. Both games were tough matches, but they show the team is ready to continue competing in tough matches.

As a star player for the Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards wants to lead the team and become an MVP candidate. The Timberwolves have enjoyed success in recent years, reaching the Western Conference Finals twice in two years. Of course, they lost, but there is a possibility that they will surpass this result in the upcoming postseason.

Edwards wants the Timberwolves to compete for a championship and has made that the team’s biggest goal going forward. This was evident in his performance in the 2025-26 season, especially in the opening game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Timberwolves are an impressive team as they continue to prove their doubters wrong. Many thought losing Karl-Anthony Towns would be the nail in the coffin for the team for the 2024-25 season.

The 2024-25 season may have gotten off to a bad start, but things changed in the second half of the season. After some initial struggles, Julius Randle finally found his stride and became the Timberwolves’ second-best player behind Edwards.

Starting midway through last season, the Timberwolves became one of the most dangerous teams in the league. They rode that momentum all the way to the Western Conference Finals, losing to the eventual champion Oklahoma City Thunder.

As of the 2025-26 season, the Timberwolves still have a strong and cohesive roster. If they can continue to play well, they could make it to the NBA Finals, even though the dominant Thunder and Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets are competing for first place.

Before the game between the Timberwolves and Lakers, Edwards told the umpire, “Everything’s great. Hey, listen, it’s win or lose at this point. We’ve been there twice already.”

Most people’s attention is on the Thunder, Nuggets, and even the Houston Rockets. Because of their star power, it’s no wonder some people see them as candidates. They acquired that brand, and the Timberwolves should be among them.

They were the second-best team in the West, as evidenced by their two appearances in the Western Conference Finals over the past two seasons. Edwards has become a superstar and is hungry for success.

As a star player, Edwards became one of the most impressive players on the roster. He’s worked hard to become a star and has probably exceeded expectations for a No. 1 overall pick.

There are high expectations for the Timberwolves going forward. Edwards and the team welcome them as they hope to meet and perhaps beat those expectations. They want to succeed and there is no harm in setting high goals for themselves.
