On Friday night, the Los Angeles lost Game 1 of the World Series to the Toronto Blue Jays, 11-4. The Blue Jays’ sixth consecutive inning resulted in the first pinch-hit grand slam in World Series history, and the most runs scored in a single inning (9) in a World Series game for the first time in 57 years.
In other news, Alex Beshear gives an update on his departure from the team due to “very personal family matters”. The southpaw was left off the World Series roster as manager Dave Roberts provided an update ahead of the eventual loss.
Finally, Tanner Scott’s World Series status was also revealed by Roberts. The left-handed relief pitcher was removed from the NLDS roster to undergo surgery for a lower body abscess, but it appears he is still off the roster for health reasons.
