Luka Doncic put on a show against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
In the 128-110 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, Luka Doncic had 49 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists in 35 minutes.
Austin Reeves jokingly mocked Doncic for missing his 50-point night, but NBA analyst Skip Bayless actually called the Los Angeles Lakers superstar this.
LeBron James is usually Bayless’ target after Lakers games. But with James out, veteran NBA analysts decided to focus their energy on Doncic.
Given Doncic’s super performance against the Timberwolves, Bayless wondered where this version of Luka would be during the 2025 NBA Playoffs.
“Where was this Luka in the 4th quarter of Game 3, 4 and 5 vs. Minnesota in the first round of the playoffs last year? I could see him now, but then I couldn’t see him,” Bayless wrote on X.
Rather than praising Doncic’s nearly 50-point triple-double performance, Bayless chose to question Doncic’s struggles in the first round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs against the T-Wolves.
Well, keep in mind that at the time, Doncic was still getting used to the Lakers and was coming back from an injury.

Doncic has undergone a major transformation this summer, and the Lakers star is expected to be one of the top names to win NBA MVP in 2026.
Who is his biggest rival? Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a star player for the Oklahoma City Thunder and is currently the MVP. Come to think of it, Bayless compared the two stars in “X”.
“As great as he is, Luka is not shy,” Bayless tweeted.
SGA recently had a 55-point night, and he did it in a double OT game, attempting 26 free throws. Doncic, on the other hand, got most of his points through open play.
Either way, both Gilgeous-Alexander and Doncic are great players, but Bayless decided to stand by the Thunder’s star.
