We played a lot on that ground and we played a lot with India too – Talia McGrath
After the match against South Africa, Australia’s stand-in captain Talia McGrath said that although they have played a lot against India recently, they don’t know what will happen in the finals. She said:
(On playing against India in the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup semi-final) Yes, that’s right. We have played a lot at that ground and especially recently we have played a lot against India as well. But knockout games are very important and anything can happen. Task 1 is complete. Get Qualified. Job 2, Knockout – We’re really excited. ”
She also praised leg-spinner Alana King’s incredible figures of 7-2, 18-7 against South Africa, and revealed how the team plans to use her. Talia McGrath said:
“(King) She was very good. No, she was really good. You felt like if you had the ball in her hands, something would happen, and that certainly was the case today. She attacked the stumps relentlessly and we felt every ball was a wicket. I’m very happy for her. I hear she broke a lot of records, but it was a really special performance. Yeah, we kept them.”
“We adjusted the plan a little bit, a little bit tighter, we knew we could make dot balls. We were getting dots, but some boundaries were leaking. So we adjusted a little bit, kind of calmed down, and they both did it very well. (By bringing in King) Yeah, she’s a bit of an important element for us in this World Cup.I had a quick chat with Ash as soon as the power play was over and we both. I agreed to take her with me and she took over and did the rest.”
