Virat Kohli expressed his gratitude to the Australian fans. Kohli said that he and Rohit Sharma enjoyed playing in front of big crowds and gave some of their best performances there.
“We also want to say thank you. I mean, we loved coming to this country and playing in front of such a big crowd. And yes, we played some of our best cricket here as well. So thank you so much for making us feel so welcome. You guys are amazing. We’ve never felt like we lacked support here,” Kohli said.
India registers a 9-wicket win over Australia in Sydney
In the third ODI in Sydney, India dominated Australia by nine wickets. Rohit Sharma scored 121 runs off 125 balls, completing his 33rd ODI century. Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 74 off 81 balls, bouncing back from two successive ducks earlier in the series.
Rohit and Shubman Gill (24) added the opening score of 69 runs. After Gill’s dismissal, Rohit added an unbroken 168-run partnership with Kohli, chasing the target in 38.3 overs with 69 balls remaining.
Rohit won both the Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards. The 38-year-old batsman finished the three-match series with a century and a half and 202 runs at an average of 101.
The two silenced critics who questioned their acting. Rohit will turn 39 in six months and Kohli will turn 38 next month. They hope to continue their good form till the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup.
