The Los Angeles defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-1 after Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s spectacular complete game. On a historic night, the ace struck out eight, walked no balls and allowed just four hits.
The history in question had to do with Yamamoto becoming the first pitcher since 2001 to pitch consecutive complete games in the postseason. He also achieved historic feats, including becoming the first pitcher to pitch a complete game in the World Series since 2015 and the first pitcher to pitch multiple complete games in the same postseason since 2014.
In other news, manager Dave Roberts announced the starting pitchers for Games 3 and 4 of the World Series. Yamamoto is setting an incredibly high bar for the next guy to follow his performance, as he has done well many times this season.
Finally, the Atlanta Braves, who are still searching for a new manager, could poach the ‘ coach. The coach started as a video scout and has been working with the since the 2015 season, so things will certainly be different around the baseball club.
