The Minnesota Timberwolves took a big hit to start the season.

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards will reportedly miss two weeks with a right hamstring strain.

Edwards got off to a good start, scoring 41 points in the season opener against the Portland Trail Blazers, but dropped 31 points in the next game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Edwards was ejected after just three minutes in Sunday night’s game against the Indiana Pacers. He underwent an MRI scan on Monday to determine the extent of his injuries.

The Timberwolves will be in a tough spot without Edwards, as they already lost a game to the Denver Nuggets without Edwards.

Without Edwards, the offense will be weaker, so players need to step up.

Chandler Parsons expects Julius Randle to weather this situation over the next few weeks.

Randle has shown that he is capable of big performances and now he must step up and carry the Timberwolves’ offense.

“Julius Randle, this is your team for the next two weeks. He has to get to work.

“He’s going to have to get busy and be very aggressive, and I think he will be.”

Edwards’ right hamstring strain could linger and could keep him out for more than two weeks.

Players will have to watch out for hamstring injuries, especially Edwards, who is an explosive athlete.

DeMarcus Cousins believes Edwards’ current injury will keep him out for more than two weeks. He also advised the Timberwolves’ young players to step up in his absence.

“We expected this to last more than two weeks.

“We want to make sure he’s 100 percent healthy this season.

“It’s going to be big for the young players to step up.”

This could be a great opportunity for Jaden McDaniels to break out offensively after scoring a season-high 25 points against Denver.
