Veda Ega Pratama, who finished second behind Brian Uriarte in this season’s Red Bull Rookies Cup, will turn 17 in November, but will be eligible to compete in Grands Prix next year without the 18-year-old age limit.
Finalizing the future of Veda, who has been supported by the Astra Honda Racing Team’s rider program back in Indonesia, was largely a formality. Sky Sport Italy reports that the young Indonesian will step up to Moto3 next year with Honda Team Asia.
Veda will be joined by championship rival Brian Uriarte. He will make his first full Moto3 season with Red Bull KTM Ajo next year (after spending the second half of 2025 with the Dynavolt Intact GP team, replacing the injured David Muñoz). He will also be joined by third-place finisher Hakim Denmark, who has also announced that he will be joining the MSi Moto3 team next year.

Rumors of Veda’s promotion coincide with the future of Japanese rider Taiyo Frostat. After his first Moto3 career win at Sepang, Furi has almost achieved his promotion from Honda Team Asia to Moto2.
No official statement has been made, but Sky Sports Italia reports that negotiations have already been completed: Fursato will join Honda Team Asia in Moto2, while Pratama will be named his replacement in Moto3.
The future of Honda Team Asia’s other riders, Tachakorn Buasri in Moto3 and Mario Suryo Aji in Moto2, is less uncertain. However, it seems likely that Aji will remain with the team and be reunited with Furusato next year, with whom they shared the Honda Team Asia Moto3 box in 2022 and 2023.
