Liverpool Central defender Ibrahima Konate reportedly notified the club that he would not sign a new contract at Anfield.
France International was a very important player for the Reds, but now it appears they are determined to move on to new challenges.
Conate is said to have informed Liverpool of his decision, and according to Fitchase, they accepted.
The report says this points to a free transfer to Real Madrid next summer.
Fabrizio Romano talks on YouTube about Real, who has a genuine interest in Konate.
Is Ibrahima Connecte really planning to leave Liverpool for Real Madrid?
As we’ve featured recently, Conate’s future has been uncertain for some time, and is interested in it from Real Madrid and perhaps even Chelsea.
The 26-year-old is approaching as soon as he becomes a free agent, so the LFC is really running out of time to bring him into a new contract.
As things stand, it seems inevitable that Conate will leave Liverpool on a free transfer, and top clubs like Real Madrid will love the opportunity to sign as good players as they are.
The Ibrahima Conate exit looks like another blow to Liverpool
For Liverpool, who signed big names like Florian Wiltz, Alexander Isaac and Hugo Ekichike, it was primarily a positive summer transfer window, but the blow was the loss of Trent Alexander Arnold.
England International also ran down a contract and made the transition to Madrid. Initially, a free transfer was a small fee to play him a little earlier in the Club World Cup.
Now it appears that Konate can do something similar, so Liverpool will need to start working on a replacement for this important player.
