Liverpool was assisted in completing the Premier League defender’s signature early in the summer.
The Reds are about to sign a new central defender despite Virgil Van Dijk signing a new contract with the club.
The Premier League leaders are expected to be busy in the summer to strengthen their teams who spend little money in the final two transfer windows.
As the club is about to win a league title, they’re financially stronger to spend the summer, and according to journalist David Lynch, the Reds are the favorites to sign Bournemouth defender Dean Huyssen.
The Spaniards were also linked to travelling to Real Madrid, but the Spanish giants are less interested in bringing him to the Santiago Bernabeu.
While speaking on his YouTube channel, the journalist said:
“The biggest spanner of the work could be Real Madrid. On all accounts, he clearly represents Spain and wants to play for Real Madrid, so it’s the player’s preference, but it doesn’t seem like they’ll follow up on their interests.
“It could leave Liverpool with a bit of a free run, and if they get it, I think Dean Huysen would definitely be a very sensible signature.
“From everyone you talk about, this is something that will be resolved pretty early in the window. So, while you may not have to wait too long to find out if he will become a Liverpool player, he is a very interesting and potential target.”
Dean Huysen will be the ideal signature for Liverpool
If Liverpool could close Huyssen’s signature early in the window, it would be a strong statement of intent from Liverpool.
Clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal have also expressed interest in securing the service of Spanish defenders.
However, at this point it seems most likely he will win the race to sign him.
The 20-year-old defender is known for his game recognition and his ability to pass the exam, a major asset to the Merseyside club.
