The next era of MotoGP is changing rules.
This forecast comes after MotoGP confirmed that Pirelli will use as its exclusive tire supplier for 2027.
Pirelli will replace Michelin, which currently offers rubber on all MotoGP bikes.
The Switch is welcomed by paddock insiders – even if it could lead to new rules that intriguing.
“I’m really happy. I like shake-ups,” said Neil Hodgson of TNT Sports.
“Michelin produced really good rear tires. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come from them. That’s how these bikes evolved. They don’t produce front tires that don’t overheat.

“We sat there waiting for Michelin to produce this tire. You have to question, ‘Is it coming at all?”
“They spent 11 years. We had some great races. I’m ready for a change. Pirelli rocked Moto3 and Moto3.
“The Pirelli spirit is to provide tires for riders to achieve faster lap times, sometimes not sustaining race distances.
“We’ll see more exciting races where riders can use their skills to save the tires. We’re looking forward to it.”
Philip Island 2027 MotoGP rules change?
Susie Perry said, “I don’t want to see a pit stop…”
Michael Labert predicted a major change. “It will probably be. Philip Island 2027 will be a must-have pit stop race – I’m calling it now!
“It’s the reality of where we are.
“Praise for producing Michelin, Brides Gainton and Dunlop production rubber for MotoGp. Pirelli has something to do in 2027, but we’ll find a solution.
“It’s going to shake things up a lot.”
Hodgson added: “I want to believe they will produce tires that don’t require a pit stop.
The World Superbike Championship Round on Philip Island in Australia currently has a mandatory pit stop rule.
Rider had mixed feelings about the impact of the rules earlier this year.
Pirelli is already a tire supplier for WorldSBK.
