According to Fabrizio Romano, Pep Lisinders has joined Manchester City coaching staff amidst the incredible developments that have caused ripples throughout British football and is set to link with Pep Guardiola ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The move comes after Rejunders was let go by Red Bull Salzburg late last year.

Long seen as the key tactical architect behind Liverpool’s recent success, Lijnders will take on a new challenge under the city’s Guardiola.

Details of his exact role remain under the lap, but he is expected to join the backroom team as a senior assistant, contributing both training ground preparation and match strategy.

This decision marks an interesting change for Lijnders, who previously expressed an interest in becoming a head coach himself.

However, the opportunity to work with Guardiola, one of the most innovative spirits in football, appears to have been a compelling proposition.

This famous coaching switch adds a new layer to the already intense rivalry between Man City and Liverpool, with Lijnders set to bring his deep knowledge of Liverpool’s inner workings to his title rivals.

Plus, the recruitment drive at Etihad may not be over. Former Arsenal and Manchester City defender Colo Tule is also linked to the potential role of Guardiola’s staff.

Tule, who held coaching positions at Celtic, Leicester City and Wigan Athletics, is believed to be considering a developmental or defensive coaching role.

The addition of two coaches with previous Premier League titles will further strengthen the strength of Man City’s backroom as they continue to pursue domestic and European domination.

Other updates on potential Toure bookings are expected in the coming days.

As for the new players coming to Etihad Stadium, Guardiola’s side is interested in the moves of Manchester United’s target Rayan Cherki in Lyon.

Newcastle United’s Tino Libramento is another player looking at the move this summer.
