He began his career with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the 2009/10 season, finishing in 2022 in a stint with the Kolkata Knight Rider (KKR).
Overall, he played 92 games in the Marquee Indian T20 League, averaging 25.19 and a strike percentage of 128.20, scoring 2091 runs.
Aaron Finch is considered one of the best T20 players of all time, leading the 2018-19 T20 World Cup 2021 Triumph and Melbourne Renegaze to the BBL title. He captained many teams in various leagues during his career, but Pune Warriors of IPL found the toughest captain Sitti.
“IPL was probably the most difficult. I came as an alternative player because you’ve been together for a short time. And after a few games, I was the captain.
“In Captain Australia, I always have the best players in the world, so my job was very easy. Everyone knows what they’re trying to do. I wasn’t as good as I was playing for re-eNEGADES or Australia.
IPL debuted for Rajasthan Royals – AaronFinch
Aaron Finch also spoke about his maiden IPL stint with the Rajasthan Royals (RR). There, they only signed a three-year contract to force them to auction due to changes in the rules.
“I made my IPL debut for the Rajasthan Royals. I played one match under Warnie (Shane Warne) as a replacement player. This is the last match of the year.
“I’m a player without a cap and it was all on the boards above. We went to the Champions League and we had already signed a three-year deal with Rajasthan.
Was I enough player to stay chosen? – Aaron Finch
While talking about representing nine different teams, Aaron Finch dropped a cruel and honest comment. He said he is or isn’t enough to hold him, or he’s not enough to be selected for various teams. He said:
“That’s a good way to see it. I was either enough player to be chosen, or I wasn’t enough to be that one or two franchise type player. Of course, I wanted to stay in the franchise the whole time.”
