Scott’s struggle this season led to speculation that the were coming closer to this summer, but they never had a big-hit deal. Baseball business president Andrew Friedman highlighted his confidence in his current roster, bringing the star back to full shape.
“Hopefully, we’ll be in October and look at the rosters we’re going to submit and feel it’s going to be a very strong roster,” Friedman said after the July 31 trade deadline. “That’s our bet and that’s what we’re doing.”
