The Los Angeles Lakers selected Adou Thiero for the 36th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Adou Thiero said he is still dealing with swelling in his left knee and will be on the sidelines for the start of training camp for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Tiero was diagnosed with hyperextension in his left knee in Arkansas, missing out on the last eight games of last season.
He was also ruled out throughout the summer league, with Lakers fans waiting for him to take action.
Thiero is reportedly left in his rehabilitation plan for a week before receiving clearance to join the team in court.
Despite this set-off, the Lakers still have great hopes for Tiero, and that he can be a shocking piece to their roster.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick preached for his team to be in the form of a championship, and Tiero revealed that he would do whatever he needed from him.
“The main focus of this year is that every year is in the form of a championship, and that’s what he emphasizes most: everyone just wants to get fit, championship communication, championships, and win championships, and do everything they need to do.
“So I understand it all and I stand for it. I will do whatever I need to do at my end to gain his trust.”
Tiero has been on the bystander for now, so that doesn’t stop him from learning as much as he can.
Tiero spoke with his teammates about how he can benefit from being around them.
“Come on, be a sponge, learn everything you can, whether it be rewarding from the court, or whatever I can pick up, even in the court.
“They’ve been this long and longer than me. They know what will happen, so I’m going to listen to them.”
Thiero gains important guidance around superstars Luka Doncic and Lebron James early in his NBA career.
This only helps the rookie adjust to his new role with the Lakers team, where he has championship aspirations this season.
