According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona reportedly attacked midfielder Fermin Lopez.
Speaking on YouTube, an Italian journalist explained that Bruce had placed a 40 million euro bid for Barca for Lopez, but of course the deal didn’t end.
Barcelona is pleased to have maintained this exciting talent and that Lopez has begun to show his best form in recent games.
Romano suggests that Lopez was “influenced by speculation,” but now he’s more relaxed and focused.
Chelsea missed Fermin Lopez’s transfer
For Romano analysis, see below. The reporter also makes it very clear that the Spaniards are not leaving Nucamp.
Chelsea’s interest appears to have been there for a while, and the bids are distracting to everyone, but it appears that players would never have been able to keep in mind that they would leave.
It will be interesting to see if this will change in the future, as Chelsea could still push again to convince them to move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea signed another attack instead
But to be fair, Chelsea spent a lot of money on other midfielders this summer, bringing in Jamie Gittens, Esteva Willian and Alejandro Garnacho.
Facundo Buonanotte joined CFC on a loan from Brighton, but it is understood that he is interested in the likes of Morgan Rogers, Kenan Yildiz, Malick Fofana and others.
It’s clear that the West London Giants are eager to add another player to that area of the team, as it follows Chelsea, another target, Xavi Simons.
Lopez may be ideal in terms of his playing style, but if he is eager to stay where he is, Chelsea probably isn’t worth pursuing him.
