Chelsea reportedly “lead the race” after officially presenting the project of Bournemouth defender Dean Huyssen.
That’s according to a report by Simon Phillips, who says sources explain that Liverpool and Arsenal are “slow” in the potential relocation.
Huijsen shines for Bournemouth and looks ready to step up to the next level.
Phillips suggests that Chelsea is confident that they are in a strong position after their first talk and a positive response from the end of Huyssen.
Still, this is far from a deal that has been made, and journalists are noting that they still can’t rule out Liverpool and Arsenal.
Dean Huysen transfers and hot up the saga along with key suitors from Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal
These three clubs seem to be the main teams currently chasing Huijsen, but we can expect to hear more about Spanish International in the coming weeks and months.
According to Phillips, Chelsea is moving fastest ever and appears to be in a strong position, but things can still change.
Reporters argue that Arsenal is still trying, and that Mikel Arteta’s presence and the prospects for higher wages could be key.
It is also argued that Huijsen is not sure about both Liverpool and Arsenal in that he will play opportunities there compared to Chelsea.
Chelsea need to strengthen their defense, but is another young man the answer?
Huijsen is clearly an elite outlook, but does another young player like this really need Chelsea?
Certainly, the 20-year-old could be an upgrade for inconsistent performers like Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Tosin Adarabioyo and Trevoh Chalobah.
However, it may be worth bringing in someone with more experience to balance this youthful team.
