Manchester United showed intentions and ambitions in the summer transfer window by making some major moves.
The Premier League giants have already secured the signatures of Massseus Kuña and Brian Mbeumo, but RB Leipzig attacker Benjamin Sesco is approaching his move to Old Trafford.
After finishing 15th in the Premier League last season, the Red Devils have acted responsibly in the transfer market this summer, improving team standards and adding quality and depth as manager Reuben Amorim prepares to rebuild the team.
There are some issues they face, but managers will need to deal with it immediately with the new Premier League season that starts within 10 days.
Man United has told Andre Onana to replace him this summer.
The goalkeeping position was a source of great concern for the club as Andre Onana struggles to impress Old Trafford. Amorim and his recruiting team may work on signing a new goalkeeper before the end of the transfer window.
Former Man United goalkeeper Ben Foster urged the Red Devils to consider the move of Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope this summer.
The English goalkeeper faces an uncertain future at St. James Park after the arrival of Aaron Ramsdale.
“Manchester United are absolutely yelling for the goalkeeper.” Foster said on his Fozcast podcast, as reported by The Mirror.
“You’re going to do much worse than getting Nick Pope. I think it would be a great fit, I really do.
“If you’re trying to get to the area ahead as quickly as possible, Nick Pope is your boy and he’ll stop the goal. Onana suffered this major injury at the start of the preseason.
“But you don’t want that from your goalkeeper. You want him to have four or five preseason games and weeks and weeks of training.
“At the end of last season, many questions were raised thinking he would probably not be the goalkeeper for his first choice.
Is Nick Pope the right choice for the Red Devils?
The Pope is experienced and has proven himself over the years with his performances in the Premier League.
However, United need a long-term solution for his goalkeeping position, and considering the Pope is 33, he may not be the ideal option.
The Red Devils have been linked to several goalkeepers this summer, including Marcin Burca, Emiliano Martinez and Diogo Costa.
With already spending a huge amount of money on attacking options, they may be looking for bargain deals to solve goalkeeping problems.
