Man United is trying to raise funds to get lots of signing this summer, but one of the possible recent reports appears to be currently closed.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Real Madrid is interested in signing Alvaro Carreras, but they wanted Man United to trigger a 18 million euro buyback clause to avoid paying the expected 60 million euro Benfica price.
It would certainly be a bold tactic from both clubs, but the chances that it might happen have now been significantly reduced.
Real Madrid Man United’s transfer plan was rejected by agents
Carreras agent Ginez Carvallar spoke to Mullets and denied the deal would take place in the summer, saying the Spanish defender plans to stay in Benfica for at least one season.
“I don’t know where this news came from. Everything that’s said in it is pure fantasy, and on my part, Carrera is doing very well in Benfica and continues there.”
Man United was tied to signing Carrera himself, but Patrick Dolgue’s January arrival means there’s less chance of a deal happening in the summer. They would have welcomed the profits they could have made from selling their 22-year-old to Real Madrid, but this strange operation appears to have been stopped on that truck before it began.
It remains to be seen what Businessman United can do with the money they have at their disposal this summer. There’s no doubt that you’ll need to sell, but raising funds is easier than you would say.
