Gresini Ducati Motogp rider Alex Marquez feels he’s one turn per turn per turn with Silverstone and says he’s “angrily” about crashing during his original start at the British Grand Prix.
The Silverstone Sprint winner led the Grand Prix on Sunday, leading the Grand Prix when he leaned against the monastery and crashed immediately.
Marquez slid across the asphalt spill area, and his Ducati hit a barrier.
He was able to resume the Grand Prix when the oil spill made it a red winding moment, saving him a fifth-place finish from a tough Sunday.
Marquez says there is no gravel in the right place at the monastery and believes he would have faced serious injuries if he had gone faster, likened to the crash that Carlos Teitai made in the 2023 European moto two races at Portimao.

Describing the crash to media, including Silverstone’s Crash.Net, he said: “The device and (I) were too optimistic.
“But today I want to be very critical. When I crashed at that point, there was no gravel in that spot.
“So, just like what happened to Tatai at Portimao, I was really close to the wall.
“My bike went to the wall and I know (under 15 meters).
“So we need to avoid those moments and we have to make a decision and confirm that because Dona has his own safety committee.
“So they need to wake up a little more at that point. So they need to do things before things happen. So I’m very mad about it.”
He added:
“In the last part it’s gravel, but not in terms of being able to crash.
“I was really lucky that it was the start, but if it happened to me to go on a flying lap, I got to the wall by bike. So it’s super dangerous to see what happened.”

Alex Marquez: “I was in a bad way because I wasn’t confident.”
Marquez initially struggled with pace with a restart when he returned to the medium front tires that he crashed.
He didn’t feel that this was his decision and would continue with a soft front that ultimately won the race against Marco Betzecchi.
“I crashed on the first lap, so later I was in a really bad way and lacked confidence,” he explained.
“The decision to go to the media was my own decision.
“We talk to teams, and it’s always the decisions they make, but I was pushing the media more.
“I was worried that the soft could not finish the race or could destroy the right side of the tire, so I decided to use the medium.
“Maybe it wasn’t the right choice, but we’re P5 and we need to see the positives.”
Alex Marquez is currently 25 points away from his championship lead, but he says he was “lucky” to save the outcome he made on Sunday.
