MUNICHEN – Top-seeded Alexander Zverev will play in the record-breaking third ATP Munich title after reaching last Saturday.
The German will ride on the support of the house’s crowd to face the second seeded Ben Shelton at the BMW Open on Sunday.
Zverev lost only once his serve while beating Hungarian Fabian Malotzan 7-6 (3), 6-3 in the semi-finals. Marozsan committed 28 forced errors.
Shelton overcame Francisco Cerundro 2-6, 7-6 (7), 6-4, the fifth seeded from breaking up in the final set. Shelton was two points lost twice in a tiebreak.
He reached his fourth career final and second final at Clay after winning at Houston last year.
