MADRID – Topseed Alexander Zverev was warned by the referee for taking a picture of the ball mark during the Clay Court Madrid Open on Sunday after complaining about an electronic line call.
The German player said there was a “misbehavior” to referee Mohamed Rahijani after Zverev thought it had become wide during the third round match after referee favourite Alejandro Davidevich Fokina’s backhand was called.
Zverev then picked up the phone from his bag and took a picture of Mark.
After winning 2-6, 7-6 (3), and 7-6 (0), Zverev has been lined up in his Instagram story, “I’m going to leave this here. This was called. Funny Call,” with two thought emojis lined up.
