Alexia Thainara hopes to defeat Molly McCann at UFC London to ruin the UK party on Saturday night and make her right foot debut with the Octagon.
“Burguesinha” ended his training session in Varginha, Brazil last Friday and the phone rang. Her manager called team leader Marcelori Bas to see if the veteran of the competitor series were ready to fight in a short period of time.
“Of course,” Rivas replied immediately. “She’s ready.”
A few minutes later, her manager called to let her know that the fight was ongoing. Thainara left Varginha for two days towards Sao Paulo and embarked on a long flight to London.
“With seven months since the candidate, we were already hoping for a high-profile fight,” Thainara told MMA Fighting. “It’s a good fight, a tough fight, and that’s because they saw me as a tough fighter. I’m a balanced athlete and obviously don’t give me half the fight.
Thainara defeated former teammate Rose Concencyo The candidate series will move on to 11-1 as a professional and win a contract with the UFC.
Meanwhile, the battle at UFC London was the appearance of McCann’s 14th Octagon, winning seven of them. “Meatballs” have an advantage in terms of experience, but Seinara sees herself one step ahead in other areas of the game.
“(I beat her, my heart, my heart, my heart, my way forward, by being aggressive and multi-purpose,” Seinara said. “Don’t let her use boxing. That’s her best. That’s all she shows in her fight.”
“And do you have a background to (Ju-Jitsu)?
Thainara had a good run on the Brazilian circuit before winning the UFC contract. In fact, five straight submissions were made between 2021 and 2023. This is a run that includes a pair of 8-second finishes. She was not competing with the sports elite at that stage. Both opponents were 0-1 as experts, but “Burgusinha” sees UFC London as her caming party.
“It’s still unknown in the UFC,” Thainara said. “But this opportunity will make me known all over the world as not everyone fights with a seven-day notification. It just shows that our team is ready.”
