Aljamain Sterling is not surprised to see him rematching UFC 316 with Sean O’Malley Rematch Merab Dvalishvili.
After losing the bantamweight title to Dvalishvili (19-4 MMA, 12-2 UFC) by unanimous decision at UFC 306 this September, O’Malley (18-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) will soon have the opportunity to revenge that loss when the pair performs things at the Prudential Center in NJ Newark.
Sterling didn’t expect to receive the same treatment when he lost his title to O’Malley at UFC 292, but he understands why the promotion chooses to give O’Malley the opportunity.
But do you think he deserves it? His response was rather ironic.
“The honest answer, UFC is going to do the best thing for business and brands. Would they prefer a rematch soon because of circumstances that lead to the first fight? But I understand the business model better than most people.
Honest answer, UFC is going to do the best thing for your business and brand. Due to the situation that enters the first fight, would I prefer a rematch soon? absolutely. But I understand business models better than most, and O’Malley is a really exciting guy… https://t.co/iaqamkweas

Dvalishvili then notched his first title defense by handing Umar Nurmagomedov the defeat of his first career at UFC 311 in January. Meanwhile, O’Malley underwent surgery to repair a torn lip in his left hip.
