Provided by Arsenal expert Charles Watts Catch off side Some exclusive insights into the transfer deal for Valencia defender Christian Mosquera.
Journalist talks Catch off side As part of his latest weekly column, he says everything has been fully agreed to Mosquera to move to Emirates Stadium.
There was a lot of speculation about Arsenal moving for the versatile Valencia youth who can run well at both centre-back and right-back.
The info about Watts is that everything is in place for Mosquera to join the gunners. Andrea Berta is once again receiving great praise for how he negotiated the deal.
The move from Christian Mosquera to Arsenal is fully agreed
“There are still some details regarding the Gyoker deal, but not in terms of Arsenal’s Christian Mosquera’s pursuit,” Watts said.
“It is now a fully agreed movement between Arsenal and Valencia, with Mosquera already receiving his medical care in London and completing his medical care to complete the proceedings before signing.
“When everything goes to plan, Mosquera will be announced as an Arsenal player later in the week, and he will be on a plane departing on a preseason tour to Asia on Saturday.”
Christian Mosquera looks like an exciting signature for Arsenal
Watts also explained why he is excited about what appears to be a potential bargain deal for the 21-year-old, and what Mosquera can bring to Arsenal.
“I’m really excited about this deal. First of all, it looks like a very good money. Again, it looks brilliantly negotiated by Andrea Berta,” Watts said.
“Arsenal is paying less than the Mosquera release clause when the 21-year-old set falls under £15 million.
“This is a very good price for a highly rated young defender who has been seen in some of the other good aspects of Europe.
“But it’s not just the price that excites me about Mosquera, it’s the possibility.
“He’s a right-footed centre-back, but he’s very comfortable on both feet, so he has the versatility, the attribute that Mikel Arteta is looking for in all of his players.
“He’s big on the ball, athletic and good. He’s also durable, as his availability records show over the past two seasons.
“He has started 70 of Valencia’s 72 league games since joining the team in August 2023. During that time he recorded 6,394 minutes in La Liga.
