It looks like the season is over for Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George.
With his contract with Paul George in free agency in the summer of 2024, the Philadelphia 76ers felt they had won the offseason.
On the court, the actual season was a disaster. Coupled with Joel Embiid’s injury issues, Paul George suffered from a mix of poor shape and fitness troubles, and now it appears his season is over.
The team has issued a statement. “As part of his treatment plan, following consultations with experts, Paul George received injections in both his left aidductor muscle and his left knee.
“Following the procedure, George is unable to play medically and will leave for at least six weeks. Further updates on his recovery will be provided if necessary.”
The Six has given up on the season and will not see Paul George again this season, except for a miraculous turnover and playoff entries.
After he played only one of the Philadelphia 76ers in his final eight games, news of the injury felt inevitable. At least now everyone knows where they stand.
The situation is disappointing for the team, and for Paul George, who declared he was going to focus entirely on the team.
At the end of February, George announced he was pausing his podcast, claiming he still dreamed of a championship run with the 76ers.
The news of Paul George being closed has led to similar reactions from social media fans.
“Good news: Paul George can once again devote his time to the podcast. Everyone is happy.”
“He went back to his regular scheduled podcasts, then back to another podcast, and in his third writing, “Now he can go back to the podcast.”
“Podcast P is back!” another fan added, making another joke.
Paul George’s experiment in Philadelphia was a costly mistake. His arrival was to provide additional insurance if Joel Embiid had injuries but was unable to carry the burden of leading the team.
His game-by-game points fell from 22.6 for the LA Clippers last season to 16.2 for the Six.
Some predicted that the George and Embiid combination would not work. For now, the team seems to be sticking to his expensive salary.
The 76ers may try to trade George this summer, but his contract doesn’t have many takers.
Philadelphia ranks 12th in the Eastern Conference with a 23-44 record.
