The New York Knicks are taking part in the Eastern Conference semi-finals after a blown victory over the Boston Celtics.
After dropping Game 5 with a one-sided loss at TD Garden, New York Knicks fans were terrifying and the team could end up losing the series in a humiliating way.
Game 6 had to make sure the series wasn’t growing into its seventh game as the Celtics retained a home advantage for potential deciders.
The Knicks did the job and scored 119-81 on a major beatdown, with the game winning after three-quarters.
The New York Knicks were so dominant in Game 6 that veteran star PJ Tucker was given the first few minutes of the series.
Tucker has been praised by his teammates for the winning mentality he has provided to his behind the scenes since being signed as a free agent two months ago.
Not many people were hoping to actually get a few minutes in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
In a chant from the crowd, Tucker played four minutes to get him involved. He registered a zero across the stat line, except for the fouls he committed.
Social media fans were amused and confused by the involvement of Tucker.
“The Celtics are embarrassed. Imagine allowing PJ Tuckers to get a few minutes.”
Second agreed: “Submarines at PJ Tucker are crazy in 2025.
“It was rude to raise PJ Tucker. LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
“PJ Tucker minutes, Boston is being cooked in the second round of the playoffs,” another added.
The fifth fan was impressed by what they saw and said, “PJ Tucker can still defend Lil!”
And another commented, reflecting that this was totally unexpected, “If I had said I’d get PJ Tucker’s minutes in the removal game before this series, I’d thought something was miserably wrong.”
Jalen Brown scored 20 points in the Celtics’ defeat. The team’s next highest scorer was 11 Payton Pritchard.
In contrast, the Knicks had four players with over 20 points. There were Jalen Branson (23), Mikal Bridges (22), OG Anunoby (23), and Karl Anthony towns (21).
Josh Hart also added a 10-11-11 triple double, becoming the first Knicks player in the playoffs since Walt Frasier 53 years ago.
Fans hope for even more of the same when the Knicks take on the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
