Brooklyn Net was the most unpredictable team heading into the 2025 NBA Draft. Their return felt a little overwhelming.
In the 2025 NBA Draft, Brooklynnet held five first round pick hauls.
Many people predicted that the net would not use all of them, and would package some of them in trades for the sake of players or to move to a higher place.
This did not break, and the net used all five choices.
- 8: Egoldemin
- 19: Nolan Traore
- twenty two: Drake Powell
- 26: I’m SAF
- 27: Danny Wolf
Brooklynnet’s five choices did not secure an A grade in post-draft analysis. Egor Denin was rated as “reach” and was given a C-grade.
Brian Windhorst called for the Nets’ strategy. And on social media he’s been saying a lot to his rival New York Knicks fans.
The Net had accumulated a huge number of picks in 2024 with a deal with the Knicks for Mikal Bridge.
And seeing the Nets’ return, Knicks fans expressed feelings that trade was all worth it.
One fan grooted: “Bridge>All these picks.”
Another addition: “This is why the Knicks weren’t worried about giving all these picks.”
“LOL Mikal Bridges is better than all the picks combined,” the third wrote.
“The Knicks won this deal,” another writing added.
Another Knicks account wrote:
I added another one. “Knicks fans have had to listen to the net fans who talk trash on Bridge trades throughout the season, but to watch the net draft like last night, fans meltdowns are really chef kisses.”
It is very important to point out that the Brooklyn Nets still have picks remaining from trade with the Knicks for Mikal’s Bridge.
These include unprotected first round picks for 2027, 2029 and 2031.
Even if Nets’ 2025 draft fails, there’s still plenty of time for the Knicks trade to backfire in the long term.
The point that Knicks fans make is that the net record of drafting players should not fill fans with confidence, but sometimes they need to get a little fortune.
