Malik Monk has entered the spotlight amid the ongoing dilemma of Jonathan Kuminga.
Before the stalemate in his contract was resolved, Jonathan Kuminga’s situation with the Golden State Warriors saw him heavily linked to the Sacramento Kings.
Cuminga is reportedly encouraged by the king’s trade interest, even if it did not reach the trade.
One point of attachment was Malik Monk. He was a Kings player offered in trade consultations, but the Warriors’ interests on the monks were not strong enough to seduce them into the trade.
Malik Monk now returns to training camp with the Sacramento Kings, where he was asked about his future during the media day.
Monk gives a simple answer to the question, indicating that all speculations are not relevant to him.
He said: “If my agent doesn’t call me or tell me anything, it won’t happen.”
“I just want to play basketball. I want to play winning basketball. Everyone wants to play 50 minutes and an average of 30 rights, but what are you ready for?”
Speaking about his thinking and his team goals, Monk gave him a totally positive response.
“Amazing. I’m ready to come back and play in front of the fans.
“They want us to fight and come out in the fight. If we lose our swing, we can live with it.”
He also revealed why he had an extra motivation to stay in Sacramento, saying, “I bought a house. I bought some acres. This is a home. I love it here.”
After hearing comments about Malik Monk’s future, there was a strong response from Sacramento Kings fans.
They want to forget about Jonathan Cuminga’s confusion.
“Don’t trade this guy!” one person wrote, adding, “Some fans can’t believe they want to trade him for ‘Kuminga’.”
“We love Monks. He brings so much value to our team. We hope we stick to him,” the third one writes.
“Let the man stay!” I wrote another post, read another post from X, “I need to stay in the king.”
Another post: “I can’t believe the king tried to trade him. They used their brains to put him where he could thrive.”
The deadline for the Warriors to resolve Kuminga’s dilemma is approaching, and it appears that in some way he will remain in place.
The effect of knock-on is that Monk will stay where he is too. He looks really happy.
