The Los Angeles will soon be taking part in the trend that the New York Yankees took over the world of baseball last week.
The new torpedo-style bat has been rounding the league after 15 home runs exploded, exhibited in a three-game sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers.

The torpedo bat challenges the traditional shape of a baseball bat by moving the barrel several inches down, ensuring there is more weight in the batter’s sweet spot. Because of the redistribution of weight, this allows for faster swings from the batter and increases power in contact.
slugger Max Muncie said he’s already ordered some bats to try out, via Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times. He noted the somewhat stagnant history of bats.
“We had a long (method) conversation in 170 years, and no matter what baseball was, the number of changes in baseball bats was minimal,” says Muncy. “I mean, everyone had shaken ashes for 140 years, then one guy swinging maple, then they came out in birches. Really, that was all the change.
“There were many different forms, but nothing was as dramatic as what it is now.”
Teammate Kique Hernandez noticed his excitement as he took part in the new forms of these bats and his hype.
“I’ve learned nothing but they look like bowling pins,” Hernandez said. “I ordered a few. All of the cool kids do it.”
Hopefully the latest “cool kids” using revolutionary bats will enjoy the same rewards that other stars around the league see.
The newest superstar who uses a bowling pin-like bat is Cincinnati Reds infielder Ellie Delacruz. His torpedo debut included two home runs and a 4-5 game with seven RBIs in a 14-3 victory with the Texas Rangers on Monday.
