It appears that there will be a lot of changes at Manchester United this summer. The Red Devils team certainly needs a refresh if they can use anything this season, so there may be a lot of changes to Old Trafford over the coming months.
One area of pitch United is trying to recruit is midfield. They were recently linked to Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Numeka.
As for departure, it appears that Christian Eriksen is almost guaranteed to leave at the expiration of his contract.
The future of another player in the air is Casemiro.
The latest in the future of Casemiro at Old Trafford
One of United’s biggest stumbling blocks under Glaser’s ownership is the amount they spend on weekly wages. In recent years, Casemiro is the best example. Casemiro currently earns £35,000 a year and £18.2m a year.
The Brazilian could leave Old Trafford in the summer, and Ir Jim Ratcliffe said in a recent interview that he was “inherited” by the club along with several other recent signatures. Reading between lines can certainly be gathered that Casemiro may not have a future in United.
Now, if a report from TeamTalk at the end of February is believed to be believable, “the club has shown no specific interest” in signing an experienced midfielder because they don’t want to reduce wage demands.
Over the past few weeks, veterans have seen substantial rise. According to social media Statman Dave, Casemiro has overtaken Premier League peers this season. Each game, he attempted most of the midfielder’s tackles in the league at 4.97 and won the most tackles of the top flight midfielder with 2.89.
It is unclear how involved he will be if Casemiro stays beyond this season. United have many talented young midfielders, with Reuben Amorim in particular who can trust him.

Young man who can replace Casemiro
Casemiro’s knowledge and experience can certainly help other young midfielders on the United team. Something like Kobbie Mainoo and Toby Collyer must have already learned a lot from him.
The young Marian midfielder is someone that united fans can be excited for the long term. According to football scout Antonio Mango, despite being already 19 years old, he is already involved with United’s first team team and could “become a beast” for the club.
So far, the Mali U17 International Kone has only played six times for Red Devils Academy’s side. He has suffered from injuries occasionally this season, which, coupled with the involvement of the first team, means he’s not playing that much.
However, one of the competitions that made the real impression on Kone was the 2023 U17 World Cup. This was a great competition for Mali, who won third place and beat Argentina in the third place playoffs.
United youngsters are outstanding players in the competition, and his statistics via the tournament Soscole show how well he played. For example, the midfielder averaged 1.6 key passes per game, creating an exceptional 4.7 tackles and completing 1.7 interceptions.

The talent of the corn in the middle of the park is clear. He is not only impressive from the ball, but also can provide creativity in the final third. He’s on track to become a balanced midfielder and with a little more experience he could potentially become part of United’s team in the future.
Whatever Casemiro’s future, United will certainly hope that he can help Kone develop. There are few players in World Football who are good at learning as a midfielder. It also certainly benefits a 19-year-old career in the long term.
