In one of the most boring Manchester derbys in recent memory, Manchester United were held in a 0-0 draw by Manchester City in sunny Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. Neither side had many memo opportunities. Both chose a more passive approach, and each helped them score points.
There were not many interesting opportunities throughout the game. Omar Marmash made several saves of United goalkeeper Andre Onana in the second half, first with a free kick, followed by a brilliantly hit volley.
For United, perhaps the closest to finding the back of the net was Joshua Zilky, a second half alternative. He appeared to hook Patrick Dorgu’s cross behind the citynet, but Adason made a sharp save from close range.
Sofa Scole’s statistics reflect how bad it was. United were 13 shots, but only two targets, with a predicted target tally of 0.92xg. As for the city, they had just nine shots, but they got five shots on target and had 0.49xg.
As far as Manchester’s derby is concerned, it was not a classic. But there were still outstanding players on the pitch, looking at the class more than anyone else. The man was a united captain Bruno Fernandez.
Fernandez Statistics vs. Mancity
As you can imagine, Fernandez was one player on the pitch and seemed to make something happen. The man, affectionately called “Portuguese Magnificent” by United fans, continued his excellent form at Old Trafford.
If there is one word summarizing that Fernandez performance, it is influential. The Red Devils captain had 70 touches and completed 93% of the passes, creating three opportunities more than any other player on the pitch.
He’s everywhere, starting his game at 10th place, then dropped to the more familiar role of No. 8 that he’s played in the last few weeks. However, there were no parts of the games that Fernandez was not involved.
Samuel Luckhurst, United correspondent for Manchester Evening News, praised Fernandez’s performance. He gave the Red Devil’s Skipper 7/10, explaining that he was “as always, creative.” Classic Fernandez.
It was a memorable performance for United’s eighth place in the otherwise unforgettable Manchester Derby. However, he was not the only United player impressed by their Cross City rivals.
Man UTD Star who makes himself non-professional
What an impressive performance from Lenny Yoro against the Premier League Champions. The young French defender was calm and composed behind him, keeping the city’s attackers at bay.
Yolo’s statistics from the game show how well he played in Old Trafford’s first Manchester Derby. The Frenchman had 54 touches and completed 89% of his passes. He also showed excellent reads of the game, with three intercepts.

Luckhurst certainly impressed with United Number 15 day in the office. Just like he was Fernandez, the journalist gave Yolo an effort on 7/10, explaining to the left of United’s back three that “there was little problem from the city.”
This performance was truly an excellent continuation from the young people. According to Statman Dave, he has now played 12 matches in all competitions, not just 12, indicating how difficult it is for him to pass.
In many ways, Yolo became non-proprisable for Reuben Amorim and was described as a “key” member of the United side by football content creator and United fan Dev Bajiva. He has his own role as centre-back on the left, and as statistics show, it’s clearly a problem for many attackers.
It certainly encourages the Red Devils that Yoro has established himself as a particular starter on this side. His recent form is exciting and he certainly plays a key role in playing for the rest of the United season.
