"An aggressive look"...La Lakers tilted to trade by the end of the month with a new update

The Los Angeles Lakers should use their time wisely ahead of the start of the 2025-26 NBA season.

So far, the Los Angeles Lakers have been bolstering their roster, welcoming Jay Claravia and DeAndre Ayton from the open market.

Despite these additions, the Lakers still need to improve their roster. why? Now, with Dorian Finney Smith leaving for the Houston Rockets, the organization needs a defensive player on the perimeter.

For now, Laravia is essentially a DFS alternative. However, it is unclear whether he will be able to replicate Finney Smith’s contributions on the floor defense.

With that in mind, adding another two-way wing is a wise decision of purple and gold. Speaking of which, NBA insider Brett Siegel recently provided an update on the Lakers’ similar pursuits.

“They are actively looking for new defensive players on the boundary/wing. They hope to have one deal by the end of the month,” Siegel wrote in X.

If Siegel’s report is believed, the Lakers are no longer looking for boundary defenders in the open market. Instead, the team focuses on trading.

After all, the Lakers have expired contracts for Maxi Kleber ($11.0m), Gabe Vincent ($11.5 million) and Rui Hachimura ($18.2 million) that can be used in potential deals.

If there’s one player who fits perfectly into the Lakers’ current roster, it’s nothing more than Andrew Wiggins from Miami Heat Star.

Wiggins is a great two-way player who averaged 18.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game last season. As far as getting Wiggins is concerned, the Lakers could trade Austin Reeves with him without giving up.

The Lakers remain interested in Wiggins’ potential deals. As the movement moves on, it will also help Heatstar realize his 2014 destiny with LeBron James.

The only big hurdle on the Lakers’ path is when Heat President Pat Riley calls for a massive return in exchange for Wiggins.
