Andrea Iannone returned to her bike just 10 days after the surgery Highside.
Iannone injured his toe on his right foot at best, but did not waste a two-day test opportunity with Misano earlier this week.
He came back with protective boots and a modified brake setup to facilitate the pain.
“I certainly don’t feel 100%, but it’s important to come back and get back to the emotions,” Iannone said.
“Finally, I think it was a positive day for my health.
“I was able to do a lot of raps, and there was a lot of pain, but in the end we made the most of it.
“I was injured only 10 days ago, so you need to be careful not to put too much stress on me.
“The emotions aren’t bad, but the speed isn’t good.
“There’s a lot to do to improve. At the brake point, there’s no good feeling with engine braking. You lose a lot of speed, especially in the faster parts of the truck.”
Iannone was 15th on Tuesday and 12th on Wednesday, but the test session was not about his raw speed.
“I struggled with brakes, engine braking and rear brakes all year round and tried everything,” Iannone said.
“So now we’re getting injured and we’re trying to adjust the rear brakes with the steering, which isn’t bad, but anyway, we struggled with that solution (on Tuesday).”
The past three World Superbike Championship Rounds have not been fruitful for the Go Eleven Ducati Rider.
His braking issues caused three consecutive DNFs to run.
In his frustration, Iannone considered retiring unless there was a better option in 2026.
