Aragon WorldSBK Race 2 saw an unfamiliar battle between Andrea Iannone and Jonathan Lea, which the Italians obviously enjoyed.
Iannone has been outside the top position battle since taking the podium on Philip Island in February, but has returned to better shape at Aragon, the circuit where he won his first world superbike victory in 2024.
The Go-Eleven Ducati riders managed to score two fourth place on Sunday.
These two-quarters of Aragon came after a fight with Jonathan Rare in the second half of the race.
“The (Super Pole Race) was a really fun race. It was incredible. We’re all really close,” Andrea Iannone told Worldsbook after Race 2 at Aragon.
“However, things have changed a lot this afternoon.
“I’m going to fight a lot with Johnny (Jonathan Lea), and Johnny really did well this afternoon. He took a really good step on the bike, and I also think his riding style is really interesting to see from behind.
“In any case, I think fourth place is a good result for us after a really long time. I want to continue like this in the final two races of the championship.”
“I’m not worried about the future.”
Iannone’s future after 2025 remains uncertain for now, but after a positive weekend in Aragon, the Italians say they are “not worried about the future.”
“It’s really clear that this year won’t work the way we want it to or the right way,” he said.
“We are worried because we are losing a year.
“But I am not worried about the future in case we continue.
“In any case, we hope we will be on the world’s superbike next year. We hope it’s a better season than this.”
