Tottenham Hotspur won’t be close to climbing the Premier League table after being beaten 2-0 by London rival Fulham on Sunday.
The team at Ange Postecoglou remains in 13th in the division, five points behind Crystal Palace in 12th, after the goals of Rodri Gomnis and former Spurs man Ryan Se Segnon secured all three points for the hosts.
As you can see in the clip above, Lily White had the opportunity to lead before the second half strike from the pair of Fulhams as Dominique Solanke missed two major opportunities to find the back of the net.
Tottenham’s £55 million signature from Bournemouth last summer failed to step up and put the team ahead.
Solanke was far from the only Spurs player to have been below the day’s performance against Fulham, as Yves Bizuma was brought off the pitch at halftime after a struggle in the opening 45 minutes.
Fulham against the Spurs’ poorest performers
Postcoglow decided to go to Mari International as part of his starting midfield 3 alongside Archie Gray and Rodrigo Bentancourt at Craven Cottage.
Unfortunately, however, the former Brighton & Hove Albion man did not justify his manager’s faith in his positive performance on the pitch against the cottage.
Instead, Bissouma struggled to play with the opening in and out 45 minutes before he retreated from the action, and was replaced by Lucasberg Ball in the second half.
The middle midfielder only completed 82% of the passes tried in the first half, despite not attempting a single long pass or cross. This suggests that he is sloppy without pose a threat to Fulham’s goals.

As you can see at the table above, Bisma lost ownership throughout Lily White’s time on the pitch, losing five of the seven physical duels.
He made more fouls than the combined tackles and intercepts. This could have spoken about how much responsibility the midfielder is from the ball, and plays on both ends of the pitch could have contributed to the Post-Coglu decision to leave the pitch.
The 28-year-old DUD was not the worst player on Tottenham’s pitch during the display in the first half. Winger Brennan Johnson also took off after the first 45 minutes after performing even worse than Bisma at Craven Cottage.
Brennan Johnson’s performance against Fulham
Welsh International was chosen to start from the right side of the Spurs front 3, with Solanke in the middle and Bayern Munich’s Loan Massy on the left flank.
It was the lack of fluidity that Johnson owns, and he ultimately sacrificed him in the first half, but he failed to be effective with the ball at his feet for the wing Tottenham.
The former Nottingham Forest Man was replaced during a break, and the son of the club’s captain Heung Min came in his place.
Johnson finished the first half, attempting a zero shot, a cross completed with zero, a long pass from zero, and a zero chance was created for his teammates in 45 minutes on the pitch. As for evidence, it’s not surprising that he received a disastrous 3/10 player rating by football full-time.

As you can see from the table above, Wales’ front was completely ineffective at the top of the pitch, and it was incredibly loose on the pass, giving Robinson a rather easy afternoon.
Johnson also struggled to deal with the physicality of Fulham players, losing four of the six duels.
Why should the Spurs drop Brennan Johnson?
Postecoglou has to mercilessly bin the Welsh attacker from his starting lineup when the Spurs fight Chelsea at Stamford Bridge by bringing their son and Wilson O’Dobert back to their side.
Johnson is in a disappointing form behind the North London outfit with two goals and zero assists in his final 10 appearances against either the Premier League level or the Europa League opposition.
Both of these goals came out in a 4-1 victory over Ipswichtown, who was threatened by relegation who was in League One two seasons ago. This means that the former Nottingham Forest man could not register a goal or assist at the other nine exits.
The 23-year-old isn’t a dynamic winger who is likely to advance to play pass and dribble, but he has a good feeling about his excellent positioning and when the chances come.

As you can see in the table above, Johnson is extraordinary in his high-quality scoring position, but there is much to be desired when it comes to using the ball outside of shooting opportunities.
He ranks very low in his Premier League position peers for his progress in play and creating opportunities for teammates. This was part of the performance issue with Fulham.
This is backed up by a return of just two assists from the 1.43 XA in 26 appearances on top flights this season.
If Johnson doesn’t get a big chance to score in the match, the former Forestman doesn’t offer much to the side of his right flank. That’s why – in this current dry spell in front of the target, Postcoglo should drop him from the starting lineup.
