“He got a text from him early today saying he was feeling sick, not sleeping well and couldn’t hold back things,” manager Dave Roberts said of Hernandez before the match. “(We) are just trying to get him some fluids, and we can rest and leave him if possible. But we hope that’s not what Mookie deals with.”
The third Spear player revealed he has been dealing with a bit of a stomach bug over the past month. Right-handed reliever Michael Kopeck told reporters he was fighting “it’s similar to what Mookie had, but probably not that serious.”
He did not travel to Japan with his team as he opened the season with a list injured in a right shoulder collision.
Kopech and Betts are better now, but Hernández appears to be heavily ill. The hope that it’s not something that Bett dealt with. Because if that’s the case, Hernandez could miss out on next week or so.
