The Minnesota Timberwolves have to do what they couldn’t manage in the 2024 NBA playoffs.

Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves were one of the most exciting stories of the 2024 playoffs. However, they ended up losing to Luka Donsic and the Dallas Mavericks, shortfalling in the Western Conference Finals.

The Mavericks’ bewildered decision to trade Luka Donsic for the LA Lakers set the Timberwolves on another collision course with the Slovenian superstar.

After finishing sixth in the Western Conference, the Timberwolves will face third-seeded La Lakers as the playoffs begin this weekend.

Anthony Edwards was one of the NBA superstars who was shocked by the Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Donsic trade.

Donsic was deemed untradable, and Edwards was shocked and commented, “When Luka is traded, anyone can trade.”

Speaking in the locker room after his match with the Kings in early February, Edwards was uneasy and added: “At 25, they traded perhaps the best scorer in the NBA.

It is clear that Edwards was surprised everyone when he learned about Luka Donsic’s trade. No one saw it coming.

It was later revealed that the Dallas Mavericks were unhappy with Luka Donsic’s conditioning. This was quickly closed by Markieff Morris, a player who traded with him.

Anthony Edwards later learned of the speculation and quickly dismissed it, pointing out Donsic’s sensational performance.

Speaking at a press conference, Edwards blew up. “He didn’t look 270 to me.

“Man, he averages 30 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds. If you’re 300, I don’t care. You’re fine with me.”

Anthony Edwards’ comments revealed that he felt the Dallas Mavericks had made the wrong decision to trade Luka Donsic.

And this could not have been more clear when Donsic entered Dallas a week ago and scored 45 points in the win.

His previous performance in LA made it clear immediately that he had a triple double against the Mavericks, and that the Lakers had won the deal.

Edwards is now preparing to face off against Donsic, a player he has clear admiration. Asked about his own game improvements, he cited the current Lakers star.

“See how other players double. See how they attack and manipulate it, especially Luka (Don Chic).

“We’re looking at Luka a lot and seeing how he attacks double teams. Even if we’re playing at a different pace, just seeing his strategy of hitting double teams can go a long way.”

Edwards begins to try and lead his own improvements to Don Sic himself, who promises to be a fascinating Best Seven Playoff Series.
