Aprilia knows that Jorge Martin wants to return to racing in MotoGP.
The 2025 campaign wasn’t a smooth sailing for Martin.
After missing the early part of the season due to an injury on the first day of preseason Tests at Sepang, he endured a training accident just days before the opening game at Buriram.
Martin was finally waiting for Aprilia’s debut in the fourth Grand Prix of the season, Lou Sail. However, the race ended with another injury and he was on the sidelines until now.
Under the new rules introduced in his absence, as a result of a major push from Aprilia, Martin is able to run the test day before his race comeback.
Aprilia’s latest medical information has ruled out Martin from his comeback at the next round of July 11-13, Germany’s MotoGP. Another medical checkup is planned for next week.
Aprilia refers to the hopeful Jorge Martin comeback day
Aprilia Racing Director Massimo Ribola confirmed that he had originally planned to test Jorge Martin at Misano on July 9, a few days before the German Motogup, where he would not compete.
“If he’s okay, we’ll sit down and check when we think he’s ready to race,” Ribora told TNT Sports.
“I think Brno could be a decent target, but you’ll need to do one step at a time first.
“It’s good to have one race before a break. So mentally, physically, he can get the rhythm and then push.”
BRNO’s Czech MotoGP will be held in Germany one week from July 18th to 20th. It is also the final race before the month break.
Rivola knows that Martin will come while he finishes practice.
“In Qatar, he hadn’t been on a bike for months. Now? That’s his call to do something very special – stay here,” he said.
“Then getting results is the second step.”
Martin’s return to Aprilia Garage could come in the ongoing saga about his future.
Next year, Martin’s claim that he wants to leave Aprilia next year despite having a year left on the contract rose when his manager declared a declaration that he could sign with his rival.
Aprilia quickly dismissed this.
Ribola warned that if the line had to settle in court he would be “relaxed.”
